Who We Are. 

Martin P Mesecke

Martin P. Mesecke is the founder and President of Self Worth Financial Planning, a Fee-Only financial planning and advisory practice located in Plano, Texas. Martin has extensive financial service experience, including roles with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and Salomon Smith Barney and other prominent financial service organizations. He takes his extensive knowledge of the financial industry, products and services, and combines it with the "client-first" philosophy embraced by all Fee-Only planners

Our clients may, in fact, have existing relationships with one or more financial product providers (such as a stock broker or an insurance agent).  While they may have a long-standing relationship and enjoy working with those professionals, the client may still have real concerns about the objectivity of the financial advice that they receive from these providers.   Clients experience something entirely different when they work with me.

Rahul Chahal brings a wealth of experience from both Capital One and AmSouth Bank.  As a “Fee-Only” financial planner he is focused on creating, implementing and monitoring comprehensive financial plans for individuals and businesses owners. Current clients run the spectrum from individuals who may simply need one or two topic-specific concerns addressed to clients who may need a comprehensive financial plan. “My clients tend to be well read in financial matters,” says Martin. “They have a pretty good grasp of their personal financial situation, however, they are sometimes unsure about how to proceed in resolving any concerns they may have. Oftentimes, they are doing remarkably well on their own, but would like to verify that they are indeed taking advantage of all the options and opportunities available to them.  Getting professional validation regarding their decisions is invaluable to them.  Sometimes it’s just nice to have a professional help you wade through the information and make sense of it all.”

Martin is a member of The Garrett Planning Network, Inc. (GPN), a nationwide network of professional, Fee-Only financial advisors. GPN members are dedicated to providing competent, unbiased financial advice to people from all walks of life. “We choose to offer our services on an hourly, as-needed basis, whether you need one question answered or a complete financial plan,” Martin says. “We impose no income or net worth minimums in order to become our client, nor are there any long-term contracts to sign. And while we specialize in working with Middle America and do-it-yourselfers, many affluent clients find that working on an hourly Fee-Only basis can be advantageous to them as well.  Whatever your net worth or income,  we are happy to work with you, rendering the highest level of professional advice and planning possible.”

Martin Mesecke earned the right to use the CFP® marks of distinction and call himself a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional from the CFP Board of Standards. Martin Mesecke is also a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and active in his local chapter. He devotes time as a board member of several organizations involved in increasing financial literacy standards among students and adults.
