The Certified Financial Planner Board
The Certified Financial Planner Board of
Standards is a professional regulatory
organization. It fosters professional standards
in personal financial planning so that the
public values, has access to and benefits from
competent financial planning. Individuals who
meet rigorous requirements are certified by the
CFP Board to use its certification trademark.
These include 30 hours of continuing education
credits every two years. The CFP licensee
also agrees to abide by the Board's Code of
Ethics and Professional
Responsibility.

fee received by the vendors of financial products, including
investment funds, insurance companies, and estate attorneys.

basis, keeping only the best interests of the client in mind –
with neither the advisor nor any related party receiving
compensation contingent on the purchase or sale of a financial
product.

Military
Officers
The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) has
announced a strategic partnership with The Garrett
Planning Network, Inc. As a Participating Planner, Self
Worth Financial Planning offers MOAA members 20% off its
standard hourly rates. Martin and his staff stand ready
to address MOAA Members’ financial planning
needs. Through GPN, Martin has attended intensive
training so that she may more fully understand the
unique challenges faced by active duty, National
Guard/Reserve and retired officers and their families.
Martin has a developed keen insights about the
challenges and opportunities that Military Personnel
face. In addition to offering discounted financial
planning services, Martin would be happy to present a
informative seminar or workshop for MOAA chapters.
